Mission/Vision

Share God’s Word
In Matthew 28:19, Jesus commanded his followers to take the gospel and spread it to all nations of the earth. Sharing the gospel is not just a responsibility, but also a Christian privilege. Lighthouse looks for different opportunities to present the gospel through personal evangelism and outreach programs and events.

Connect with other Christians
Coming alongside people in our church and community is important at Lighthouse. God intends for Christians to be in fellowship with other Christians, to know they are cared for, to be held accountable, and to be encouraged in the joys and sorrows of their everyday life. Church services are held at the Pilgrim Canadian Reformed Church at 266 High Street, London.

Weekly programs provide time to share and spend time together. We also encourage youth to attend Campfire, Roots Conferences, and other events hosted by the Canadian Reformed and United Reformed Church, where they can meet with with other Christian youth and grow in faith together.

Grow in Faith
Sunday worship services are an important time to grow in faith and to be recharged for the coming week. Maturing in faith is a lifelong process and can only be done by consistently studying the Bible and letting God work into our hearts. Weekly Bible study and catechism classes are other opportunities for us to learn about God’s promises and to grow in our faith.

Serve Others
While Jesus was here on earth he showed us that he not only cares for people’s spiritual needs but also for their physical needs. God has blessed each believer with special talents that can be used to help those around them. At Lighthouse we look for ways to serve each other through personal relationships as well as through organized programs.

Praise God
Worship is what we were created for. Each Sunday there is an opportunity to praise God together in our morning and afternoon worship services. Our services include praying, singing songs of praise to God, and hearing a sermon in which we learn more about God and our salvation through Christ.

Lighthouse is supported and overseen by the Pilgrim Canadian Reformed Church.

What We Believe
Lighthouse is a Christian mission that stands in the Protestant and Reformed traditions. We believe what God’s word teaches and we accept one of the oldest-standing summaries of God’s word, the Apostles’ Creed. It reads as follows:

I believe in God the Father almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ,
His only-begotten Son, our Lord;
He was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the virgin Mary;
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;
He descended into hell.
On the third day He arose from the dead;
He ascended into heaven,
and sits at the right hand
of God the Father almighty;
from there He will come to judge
the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit;
I believe a holy catholic Christian church,
the communion of saints;
the forgiveness of sins;
the resurrection of the body;
and the life everlasting. Amen.

In addition, we accept two other summaries of teachings: the Nicene Creed and the Athanasian Creed.

Finally, we also accept three Reformed articles of faith as being true to God’s word: the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism,  and the Canons of Dordt.
