The Word of God teaches:

"And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up." (Galatians 6:9) "As for you, brothers, do not grow weary in doing good." (II Thessalonians 3:13) "For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised." (Hebrews 10:36)

Do you experience a weary heart? Is all this societal upheaval getting to you? Indeed we have experienced a season of time where many of our efforts have been frustrated. We have made plans only to see them postponed/cancelled. We have wondered about these 'covid' restrictions--what have they accomplished? We are puzzled that more Canadians can not see 'better solutions'. Not many are looking to the God of heaven and earth for help. We see before our very eyes the dismantling of the Judeuo/Christian ethic.

Let us not however lose heart. God is sovereign and what we are experiencing is under His control and direction. He is speaking to us.

One of the essential elements that is required of us is continued perseverance. It has been said Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after the other. It has also been said Perseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of doing the hard work you already did. Ultimately perseverance is resting in the preservating work of God's grace. And how thankful we must be for that grace.

God knows the honourable desires of our heart and He will honour us for it. We may not achieve our desired results--but if we are seeking to be faithful we will persevere. Let us live out of the message of God's call to us to look to Him for all that we need--a message that is rooted in the hope of the gospel. Let us do so in prayer seeking God's glory.

Wishing you God's continued blessing in the strength of God's peace. Sincerely, Rev. P.J. Vellenga
